Kodachadri isn’t exactly hiding in plain sight, but it is tucked away in a sweet spot of Karnataka. And it is always the tucked away mountains that give the best experiences!
This backpacking trip will keep you going for a whole month, we promise!
Journey to Kodachadri!
As the sun sets over Bangalore, our adventure begins as we head towards the Shivamogga District. We'll embark on a comfortable journey of 410 km in a Tempo Traveler or a Minibus with push-back seats, ensuring a smooth ride for our hikers.
We'll pick up our fellow explorers at the following locations. Click on each location to see the exact pickup point.
Note for the entire trip: The travel time may vary depending on the traffic and road conditions. Yet, we will make sure that we will cover all the places on the itinerary.
▪️ 06:00 AM - 08:30 AM: Reach Homestay, freshen up, have breakfast, and explore the campsite
▪️ 08:30 AM – 09:30 AM: From the campsite, we will start our hike to and reach Idlumane waterfalls (1 hour)
▪️ 09:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Enjoy the stunning views of the waterfall
▪️ 10:00 AM – 03:00 PM: Start the trek to and reach Kodachadri Peak. Have your packed lunch on the route to the top. (5 hours)
▪️ 03:00 PM – 04:00 PM: Enjoy the serene beauty from the top of the mountains
▪️ 04:00 PM – 06:30 PM: Descend to reach the homestay (2.5 hours) Or Get into the Self-Sponsored Jeep Ride to reach homestay.
▪️ 06:30 PM: Enjoy the warmth of the campfire, sharing stories and experiences with fellow travelers. Dinner will be served and retire for the night
▪️ 07:00 AM - 12:30 PM: Wake up, get ready, have breakfast and get into the vehicle, at the time mentioned by the guide. Visit the historical Devagange! Later visit the Nagara Fort! Finish both the locations by 12:30 pm in the afternoon.
▪️ 01:30 PM: Have Self-Sponsored Lunch .
▪️ 05:00 PM: Upon arrival in Jog Falls, kindly proceed with your tour guide's instructions. They will ensure a safe and fulfilling experience, maximizing the time allowed for exploration. And Leave for Bengaluru.
▪️ 11:00 PM: Reach Bengaluru! (approx)
Drop-off Points: The drop-off points will be the same as the pick-up points to ensure convenience for all travelers. Please ensure you have all your belongings before leaving the vehicle.
Drop-off Schedule:
🏡Once you’ve reached your drop-off point, it’s time to head home, take a well-deserved rest, and start planning your next adventure!
-Face Masks and Hand Sanitisers
-Xerox Copy of your Aadhar/Voter ID (Mandatorily required for permits)
-Small backpack to carry your essentials during the trek
-Water bottles – 1-2 (1 liter each)
-Lunch Box (to carry your packed lunch) and spoons
-Raincoat and Bag covers (in case of rain)
-A comfortable pair of shoes with a good grip for trekking
-An extra pair of socks
-Flip-flops for lazing around the campsite
-Torch/Headlamp (to walk around at night)
-Portable chargers for your electronics
-Extra pair of clothes to change into once wet
-Polybags to pack your wet clothes
-Eatables during the trek like Energy Booster, Tissues, Chocolates, Dry fruits, etc.

-Snacks for yourself
You will have to reach all the places on time as per the itinerary, by yourself. You will also need to synchronize your arrival times with the trek leader in case the Tripbae vehicle's journey experiences any delays. Other than that, accommodation, guidance, permits, and the rest which are mentioned in the included list are included.

The safety and security of women/girls are paramount to us. Hence, it's entirely safe for women/girls to participate in our treks and travels. Our trek leaders always accompany the group, offering constant assistance and direction. Our campsites are thoroughly secure and provide a safe lodging environment. In addition, our female trek leaders often join our treks.
Unfortunately, it's not feasible to reschedule your trek to a future date if you're unable to attend on the designated day, regardless of the circumstances (like family emergencies, health problems, or work commitments). September to May are the ideal months to go on the Kodachadri Trek. Avoid trekking during the peak monsoon season (June to August) as heavy rains can make the trails slippery and potentially dangerous.
