Overview

Bir is a rural village located in the west of Joginder Nagar Valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. It is also the location of the Bir Tibetan Colony, founded in the early 1960s as a settlement for Tibetan refugees after the 1959 Tibetan uprising.

Bir is noted for several Tibetan Buddhist monasteries and supportive centers of the Nyingma school, the Karma Kagyu school, and the Sakya school, located either in the town of Bir or nearby. A large stupa is also located in Bir. Ecotourism, spiritual studies, and meditation draw visitors.

Nestled amongst the aesthetic natural bounties, Bir is a small village in Himachal Pradesh which is also known as the paragliding capital of India. A place so pristine, this village adds extra glitters and jitters to the beauty of Himachal. Bir is located at an elevation of 5,000 feet amidst the serene landscapes, snow-capped hills, and artistic temples. Home to a Tibetan colony, this place holds a rich culture featuring the Deer Park Institute, a center for Indian tradition wisdom patronage by the Dalai Lama, widening the horizons of your knowledge about traditions.

The summer season of Bir, starting from April to June, turns this beautiful land into heaven as the snow melts making the weather pleasant. This is considered the best time for paragliding bringing flocks of people from all over the globe. Magnifying the elegance of Bir, the monsoon showers flourish the flora and fauna of the place turning the place into heaven. The light to heavy showers make it an offseason for paragliding, therefore, if you want to explore Bir and indulge in activities other than paragliding then this season is perfectly fine.

The temperature in winters, starting from December to March, drops down to sub-zero as it starts to snow in the upper regions covering it in 5-6 feet ice sheet. If you wish to winter trek then you can visit Bir in this season, but make sure you are well prepared.

10:00 PM - Leave Delhi in Tempo Traveler, Minibus with push-back seats.

Day 1 - Wednesday

07:00 AM - Reach Campsite in Bir and freshen up. 08:00 AM - Have breakfast and explore the campsite. 09:00 AM - Board the vehicle to reach the trek starting point in Bir. 01:00 PM - We will be having our lunch during the trek. 02:00 PM - After lunch, we will start our trek downhill back to Bir. 06:00 PM - Reach campsite and sip tea. 07:00 PM - Enjoy the campfire followed by activities. 09:30 PM - After dinner retire for the night.

Day 2 - Thursday

06:00 AM - Wake up Call & get ready for Paragliding. 08:00 AM - Have your breakfast. 09:00 AM - After breakfast, board the vehicle to reach Take Off point for Paragliding. 10:00 AM - Reach Take Off point and experience the High Fly from Billing to Bir. 11:00 AM - After Paragliding, leave for Kasol. 01:00 PM - Lunchtime. 02:30 PM - After your lunch board the vehicle to reach Kasol. 04:00 PM - Self-sponsored River rafting on the way to Kasol. 07:00 PM - Reach the hotel in Kasol and freshen up. 09:30 PM - After dinner retire for the night.

06:00 AM - Wake up Call & get ready for Rudranag Trek. 08:00 AM - Have your breakfast and carry packed lunch. 09:00 AM - After breakfast board the vehicle to reach the trek starting point. 10:00 AM - Reach Barsheni and we will start our trek to Rudranag. 01:30 PM - Lunchtime on the way and recharge yourself. 05:30 PM - Reach Rudranag Campsite and enjoy the perfect sunset point. 07:00 PM - After freshen-up enjoy the campfire followed by dinner. 09:00 PM - After dinner retire for the night.

Day 4 - Saturday

07:00 AM - Wake up Call & get ready for trekking downhill 08:00 AM - Have breakfast and leave for Kasol 01:00 PM - Reach Kasol and have lunch 03:00 PM - Shopping in Kasol 05:00 PM - After shopping, leave Kasol back to Delhi 08:00 PM - Dinner on the way to Delhi

05:00 AM - Reach Delhi and drop points are same as pick points
