Hampi is in the Vijayanagara District.
The best time to visit Hampi for most tourists is during the winter months (October to February) when the weather is pleasant and comfortable for exploring the historic ruins. If you enjoy lush greenery and don't mind occasional rain, you can also consider visiting during the monsoon season. Summer is generally less recommended due to the extreme heat.
